Astragalus
Astragalus root has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine and is used for a variety of conditions. It is also used as a food and is reported to increase stamina and improve the immune system. Some studies have confirmed that astragalus has immune-stimulating effects and can even reduce the side effects from chemotherapy. It has some anti-cancer activity against tumors, but has not been shown to treat or prevent cancer.
Astragalus has been shown to help support the immune system with some types of chemotherapy. It might also improve stamina, fatigue and poor appetite in some cancer patients.
Dose
Astragalus root has traditionally been used as a food as well as an herbal supplement, so dosing recommendations vary widely. A standardized dose of 500 mg thee times daily has been shown to improve cancer-related fatigue.

Astragalus is generally safe and well-tolerated. It is not known to have any dangerous side effects or concerning drug or herb interactions.
